The Benicia Community Foundation receives donation from local Kaneka Aerospace.

With the iconic City Park Gazebo as a backdrop, board members of the Benicia Community Foundation recently accepted a generous monetary donation from representatives of locally headquartered Kaneka Aerospace LLC, which is located in the city’s Industrial Park.

“As Kaneka Aerospace LLC is focused on being a good community partner, we are honored to represent the Kaneka Foundation in contributing to the mission of the Benicia Community Foundation.  We look forward to future opportunities to join our employees and corporate resources with the citizens that the Benicia Community Foundation represent,” according to David Gressett, Jr., President.

Joining Mr. Gressett, Jr. for the donation presentation was Kanaka Aerospace LLC General Manager Dr. Ekaterina Ryjkina.  Representing the Benicia Community Foundation were David Batchelor, Chair; Kristine Passalacqua, Vice Chair; Kathy Adams, COO; Steven Green, CFO; Donna Koontz, Board Secretary and Terry Scott, Executive Director.

“We are so honored to partner with Kaneka who wants to help our community,” said David Batchelor, BCF Chair. “BCF brings heart to solving community challenges and is dedicated to supporting our community and local charities, while building community camaraderie,” he added. “We look forward to building a strong relationship with Kaneka and others to help meet our community needs.”

According to Terry Scott, BCF’s Executive Director, “They say everything is local.  Local needs can be best met by Benicians helping Benicians.  We are very proud to partner with locally headquartered Kaneka Aerospace.  Not only is this a financial donation but it also represents Kaneka’s commitment to supporting the activities and needs of our community.”

“This is a perfect example of a local partnership between two local groups to make Benicia a better place through active philanthropy,” he added.

“Recently, as an example of local partnerships”, said BCF Vice Chair Kristine Passalacqua, “Benicians Adopting Benicia (BAB) which is a part of the BCF, sponsored a much-needed clean-up of the City Cemetery.  More than 50 residents joined the City’s Park and Community Services department in a massive clean project.  Mayor Steve Young and Kaneka’s Dr. Ekaterina Ryjkina joined the many volunteers in cleaning up our historic cemetery.
