BAB’s first two projects were the mid-winter beautification at the East 2nd Street and Military entranceway, as well as cleaning up of the city-owned park at St. Paul’s on First Street.

The Benicia Community Foundation/Benicians Adopting Benicia, in conjunction with the City of Benicia, honors our active Military from Benicia by putting up banners on the light posts up and down First Street with the picture of the person serving their branch of service and their name.

Helping Our Community: Benicia Cemetery Clean Up

More than 50 volunteers armed with rakes, shovels, pitchforks, tarps and lots of determination braved the high winds and low morning temperature last Saturday to undertake a considerable clean-up of the city’s historic cemetery.

“It was totally a community effort’, said BCF Vice Chair Kristine Passalacqua.  “While the volunteers came equipped with the needed gardening tools and high energy, the City provided the equipment and staff to haul away the many, many truckloads of materials gathered by the volunteers. READ MORE
